Wow, The Return Of The King is still in the game? That's a little shocking.

I can agree with many of your positions but Return of the King (which I do like), American Beauty, and The English patient being in the top ten is something I really can't see as possible. As well as All Quiet on The Western Front which should have a good position, but it has a few major flaws that I think keep from being top ten material.

Well, it's not a terrible top 10 but it could be better (only my opinion of course, and you're absolutely right, to each his own!).

Here's what I think it'll look like:

10. All Quiet on the Western Front (1930).
9. American Beauty (1999).
8. The Godfather: Part II (1974).
7. The English Patient (1996).
6. Schindler's List (1993).
5. Casablanca (1943).
4. Lawrence of Arabia (1962).
3. The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003).
2. The Godfather (1972).
1. Gone with the Wind (1939). (HOPEFULLY!!!).

I would obviously never have Lawrence of Arabia in my top 10.

A good mix of the usual classics, plus a few (I think) more personal choices, even if one of them is The English Patient. =P

I love seeing American Beauty and Return of the King still in, because both are definitely in my Top 10 (so far) too.

Wow! I never thought The English Patient to reach this far! So is American Beauty!

This is really exciting now. I think TEP will be on the top 5, I guess. :)

fantastic choices, man!!! :) as I always make it clear, Gone is my number 1.
But your Top 10 is fabulous. One thing: I'd easily have All About Eve there, but I know I'm quite subjective on that one.

I definitely agree with your bottom 2. I think most who've actually seen Cavalcade would agree on that!

Thanks a lot! :-)

I'm very happy that you agree with me!

About All about Eve: I think I'm actually in the minority here. I think everyone has this movie in his/her Top 10 and I am a fan, too, just not as much...
