I can't wait! This is such a controversial year. Especiall with Cotillard, people either love her or despise her. I'm also really interested to hear what you think of Page!
Well, I try my best but I doubt that I can please you all! :-)
@Sage: The funny thing is that I actually don't care so much anymore who will 'win'. When I started the blog, ranking the winners and picking my personal winner was the most exciting thing for me but now I mostly enjoy to watch all these unknown performacnes and write down my thoughts on them. Ranking and grading is not even necessary for me anymore but of course I will go on doing it since this is all the fun! :-)
I'm so glad this year is next! Marion will be winning easily, but I hope you like Linney (She's my pick) and Page (Who used to be my pick) and Christie.
I also need to do this year because I need to re-evaluate it, especially Marion, Blanchett, and Christie. I'll do it eventually.
My intentions are revisiting some of the performances that I haven't seen in literally years, and so at the end, I can show off that complete ranking to everyone :]
I think Cotillard just has one of the most interesting faces and presences in cinema right now, and I especially love the work she has been doing in DV. Her performance is La vie en rose was revelatory, and she'd get my vote from this year.
I don't know why people have problem with Blanchett's performance - we should to see a performance when that performance is nominated not the Movie. Elizabeth 2 was a bad movie, but Blanchett was amazing.
My rank:
1. Marion Cotillard 2. Cate Blanchett 3. Julie Christie 4. Ellen Page 5. Laura Linney

It's going to be Cotillard, then Christie, then Linney, then Page and Blanchett.
I'm already excited!

i really like Cotillard in La vie en rose. Juno was a nice enough film, but I wasn't particularly swept away by the film, or by Page.
Well, we'll see! :-)
Gee, I wonder who will win? ;]
I'll just hope for a good grade for Julie Christie :)
Marion for the win! :) But I guess she has a great chance as she was the second in your ranking if I remember well.
Cotillard will win most likely but I am interested to see your thoughts on all them.
