FUCK YEAH! Sorry for the F-word but I'm so happy about this.

For me it's easy. JANE FONDAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! "Help me!" So dusturbing. I hope she gets at least a 5 from you.

But it will be Maggie and she deserves it, too. I love her so much.

I love everyone here except for Bujold (I wish Ingrid Bergman had been nominated for Cactus Flower, it would have been a perfect field)! I think everyone is deserving here, expcept for Bujold.

Glad you're happy about this year! :-)

I don't want to give anything away now but I will say that for me this is a very strong line-up without a weak link.

Maggie will win easily here, but it's incredibly strong lineup, save for Bujold who needed some help badly.

I hope Minnelli wins. It's just an unforgettable character, she breaks my heart. Excited to see your thoughts!

@deanie: I thought Fonda was your favorite?

I'm stunned, too. When I did this year, deanie was raving about Fonda for me. Surprised... :)

Hahaha, both of them are among my favorite performances ever (I say that a lot, but I REALLY mean it this time), pretty much neck-and-neck. I found both so tremendously affecting when I first saw them in a way that very, very few performances have ever made me feel. But Minnelli's performance has been in my mind a lot lately...

Fonda's brilliant but Smith is another league of her own in this performance, really unbelievably amazing, and based on your lead actress ranking and your general hate for Fonda's acting she will win hands down!

I saw all five of these performances when I was in college. I went to "The Prime of M J B" not knowing too much about it and was absolutely blown away. I stayed through two showings.
In TIME magazine, after the awards Shirley Maclaine was quoted as saying "Well, talent does win once in while."
I couldn't agree more ! Smith for the win !!!

My pick is Maggie Smith, with apologies to Jane Fonda and Liza Minnelli (in that order)

Anyway, Maggie is assured a win here, and she definetely deserves it! It certainly is one of the best years ever!
