Best Actress 1988


The next year will be 1988 and the nominees were

Glenn Close in Dangerous Liaisons

Jodie Foster in The Accused

Melanie Griffith in Working Girl

Meryl Streep in A Cry in the Dark

Sigourney Weaver in Gorillas in the Mist

  1. Well, I hope the under apperciated Jodie Foster, at least, gets a great placement...she didn't do terrific in your ranking, and I'm sure someone could easily top the placement she had there, but I'd still like to see her win :)

  2. I'd like to see a close fight between all of them. Even Griffith, who is, unfortunately, very underappreciated.

  5. In my opinion, Meryl Streep was the best actress that year, with Jodie Foster in a close second; Melanie Griffith was fine, but Sigourney Weaver gave an uneven performance, and Glenn Close gave her usual over-the-top performance.

  6. I do not think Griffith or Foster will win, but I do not know how you will view the others. Close can be divisive, so can Weaver, but people usually like Streep although they usually do not chose her as their pick.
